On April 11, the launching ceremony of 2019 High-Profile Internship for Practicing Belt & Road Economic and Trade Laws was held at East China University of Political Science and Law. Lv Yinong, Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the Justice Bureau of Jing'an District, Chen Jingying, Vice President of East China University of Political Science & Law, and Ji Nuo, President of the Shanghai Bar Association, attended the ceremony, along with 22 interns from 10 “Belt and Road” countries and 11 lawyers from Law firms in Jing’an District. Lawyer Gao Hengzhi and Ni Chenliu represented Yingdong Law Firm to join the event.

Lu Yinong, Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the Justice Bureau of Jing'an District, pointed out in his opening speech that the internship program aims to raise the international profile and competitiveness of legal services of Jingan District, so as to contribute to the “Belt and Road Initiative”. That's why the Justice Bureau puts so much effort into this program, to make it really impactful.

Chen Jingying , Vice President of East China University of Political Science & Law pointed out in her speech that talents with cross-cultural background will play an important role in “Belt and Road Initiative”, to facilitate cooperation in policies, infrastructure connectivity, trade & capital flows and people-to-people communication. She hopes that interns will make full use of the opportunities, follow relevant rules and regulations, and actively seek advice from mentors, so as to gain knowledge and set an example for people-to-people friendship.

Jino, President of the Shanghai Bar Association, stated in his speech that with the partnership between Jing’an District Justice Bureau, East China University of Political Science and Law, and Jing’an Law Commission, this internship program will definitely boost the international profile of Shanghai’s legal services industry.

In the sharing session, lawyers from Yingdong Law Firm expressed their thoughts and visions for this internship. They hoped to build Yingdong into an international exchange platform for mutual learning, and also look forward to the opportunity for developing foreign legal talents and laying the foundation for future international legal cooperation.
