On March 5, 2019, Chen Min and Wu Jin, lawyers of Overseas Legal Affairs Center, Shanghai Yingdong Law Firm, visited the Royal Thai Consulate General in Shanghai. They were warmly received by Zhuang Yanlan, Commercial Consul of the Royal Thai Consulate General. Both parties had a discussion on their future cooperation.
In recent years, China and Thailand have had exchanges at all levels, with political trust strengthened. The two countries have in-depth cooperation, good relationship in international affairs, and strong people-to-people connection.
In case of any trade dispute between Thai and China, as pointed out by Consul Zhuang Yanlan, legal service agencies are needed to provide secured, efficient and professional legal protection for enterprises and individuals of the two countries, regardless of language and cultural differences. The Thai consulate does not have this legal service in place, so international laws firm such as Yingdong can step in with their legal support.
Lawyer Chen Min and Wu Jin put forward their own suggestions and opinions on the partnership. Consul Zhuang Yanlan agreed and engaged Shanghai Yingdong Law Firm as their partnering law firm.
This partnership has echoed to the needs of the “Belt & Road Initiative”, and fully embodies both countries’ willingness to cooperate on legal affairs. It will help laid the foundation for better legal services for China-Thai cooperation, and also help raise the international profile of Yingdong Law firm.
